Contact and FAQ — For Attending Guests
Here is a brief summary of the questions a lot of guests attending weddings at our farm have. Please read through carefully to see if I have answered your questions here, before reaching out.
If you have read all the answers, and still would like to reach someone at our farm, email is the best approach. Since we may be in the field feeding cows or doing hay, or hosting a beautiful wedding. If you need to make a phone call, our farm receptionist will ask a few questions and forward the message to the right person who can best answer your specific inquiry. Find phone and email below, if we were not able to help on this page.
Contact Info:
Phone: 518-217-2660. If you are calling, you will have to leave your information and reason for the call with our receptionist who will share your message with us as soon as we are back in the office. This is because we are often touring or meeting with our couples or hosting weddings. It is faster to get a reply via email: info@sevenpondsfarm.com

Seven Ponds Farm is located in the gorgeous Catskills area of upstate New York. Under 3 hours from GWB in New York City. An easy ride from NYC, mostly on the thruway, with scenic local roads and towns. There is an abundance of lodging nearby. The area boasts activities such as fishing, boating, river tubing, hiking, and graceful spas for massage and relaxation. A little over an hour from Albany, one hour and forty minutes from Binghamton. Three hours and forty-five minutes from Boston.

You may follow GPS all the way to the town of Summit, however from there you must follow specific directions to the farm. From Summit, take Charlotte Valley Road past the town hall, down the valley, until you reach Lutheranville Road (your GPS may want you to take Spruce Lake road to Seven ponds Road, do not do this. That road is seasonal and not well kept). After, take Mudlake Road for 50 feet and merge onto Seven Ponds Road, continuing up the hill; you will see wedding signs for the farm.

The best way to get around is with a car. Either your own or a rented car, or sharing a ride with someone you know well. Carpooling is a great way to save money and the environment. If you don’t have a car: You can take the train to Hudson or Albany, which is about an hour away, they have Uber and Lyft. However, those are less reliable when returning to catch the train back. There is also Trailways bus service to Stamford which is very close to the farm. If you book a room in that town you may be picked up by the wedding couple’s shuttle or you can coordinate with other guests there.

There are dozens of lovely inns and Airbnb’s very close to the farm in Jefferson. There are also hotels in Cobleskill. A little further and in the other direction is the city of Oneonta, where there are big chain hotels like the Mariott, etc.
Most of our couples are arranging some form of transportation for their guests, although you can drive and park if you have a designated driver. When couples offer transportation, they want you to stay in one of their recommended places on their transportation route. So if you want a ride from your place of lodging to the venue (and if the couple is providing it) please check the invite and their wedding website. Every couple has a different plan for this, and we don’t want to interfere with their decisions or proving conflicting information, so we cannot answer questions about where you should stay.

If you don’t want to follow the couple’s recommendations for where to stay or be picked up, and you want to drive to the farm yourself for the reception, we recommend using Airbnb for the inns and Travelocity for the motels and hotels. The zip code for the farm is 12175, and it is located in Summit NY. The are so many wonderful choices, for every taste. If you want to stay in a secluded private cabin with a swimming pond, or in a place in town with other guests that serve breakfast in the morning.
However, our staff is asked not to direct you to a specific place, since travel website sites like Airbnb and Travelocity are providing the most accurate information about the available lodging when you need it. Let’s say our staff recommended 3 Airbnb’s, but they were all booked for that weekend, then we wasted your time. Airbnb and Travelocity and others will only list those that you can still book, for the weekend you are attending the wedding, so these sites will save you time, and you get to pick the place with the setting and amenities you love.

The farmhouse is only available for our couples and they book the whole house. They will decide who will stay farmhouse. Usually, it is the close family like parents or siblings or the bridal party. They will also decide what their guest at the house will contribute to the cost of their rooms. The farm does not rent out any rooms directly and we do not know who is staying there. The couple’s wedding website or invite will provide details about where they recommend you stay.
-
The Virginia Queen is owned by the farm, but it is also rented to the couple or their family as a whole house, and they decide who should stay there, and they divide the cost of the Inn by the rooms so their guests can contribute their share. The guests who will stay in the Virginia Queen are usually those who are part of the ceremony procession or are helping the couples with decor or set up and need to be close at hand and nearby. Luckily, next door to the Virginia Queen there are about a dozen other inns and Airbnb that would love to host you.

Every couple has a different plan for transportation, and they have the final say. Most couples are offering some transportation to and from the farm on the day of the wedding. Their wedding website or invite will specify all the details about this.
There is plenty of parking at the farm, so if there is a designated driver in your group, please arrive on your own. If the wedding you are attending does provide a shuttle, make sure you pick a place to stay that they will stop at. If you stay at a place not on the couple’s transportation route, please do not ask them to pick you up, since the shuttle may run out of time and you and others may miss the ceremony. If the couple has not posted their recommended lodging and shuttle plan yet, you can ask them when they will provide that information. There are taxis in the area, but not the kind you can just call when you need it, they usually need a day's notice.

If you would like to purchase a gift like a bottle of Prosecco to be placed in the couple’s room for when they arrive at the venue, we can do that for you, along with a beautiful card written by hand. The gifts will be placed in the room where the couple will be staying for the weekend; it will be cold in a chiller with two flutes.
Click here to purchase a gift for the couple: (please note that this will take you to our sister farm website where the purchase is available; please make sure you go back Seven Ponds Farm after if you want to continue looking at the FAQ or information relating to your visit.)

Before electricity or air conditioning, the mountain areas of the Catskills where we are located were the most sought-after region for urbanites. Featuring warm summer days and cool nights, often 10-15 degrees different from the cities around us. It was a true reprieve from the oppressive heat, even in the valley below us. Even the middle of summer makes for a delightful wedding at our farm. Please dress accordingly as some of the activities are outdoors, and comfortable footwear is more enjoyable when dancing and hanging out by the bonfire. The chart below provides a helpful indication of what you should come prepared for. Here are the average highs and low historical in our general area.
I am vegetarian or I have dietary restrictions?
We are an NYC Michelin-recommended restaurant group and we grow many of the ingredients on our two farms in the area, and we cook them in our own kitchens with full-time in-house chefs and staff. And we accommodate vegetarians and those with allergies. We serve an amazing 4-course tasting menu at the wedding. Our chefs work in collaboration with our couples to create their favorite tasting menu track for you all of you. You do not get to indicate any preferences for dinner on the RSVP card, or at the wedding. It is all a delicious surprise tasing menu created by the couple and our chef team. You do get the identify any dietary restrictions or allergies. Please indicate on your RSVP card that the couples sent with their invitation what those dietary restrictions are. If we are unclear about any of those restrictions or are unable to accommodate them, we will reach out to you through the couple to let you know or clarify.
